The Silage Cutter will safely and
efficiently remove extremely hard-packed or frozen silage with minimal
reduction of particle size. The Silage Cutter features a large drum
for tremendous capacity. The Silage Cutter has a heavy-duty drive chain
for extreme duty situations with high torque and extremely fast dig
out rate. It is ideal for trench, bunker or piles and leaves a smooth
and undisturbed face to reduce spoilage and forage waste. In addition
to saving the silage, the Silage Cutter also reduces load time, wear
and tear on the power unit and hydraulic drivelines. All these features
add up to a great money saving tool!
The Silage Cutter also has an optional side cutter for splitting
bunks!
Features:
• Heavy construction with large drum to
reduce machine bounce
• 2” main shaft with grease able bearings • Cushioning valve
Pays for itself! • Slow speed reduces particle cutting
• Slow speed extends life of wear parts
• Minimize wear and tear on machine
• Saves 40%-60% operating time
• Reduction of fuel consumption
• Minimizes spoilage
• Eliminates clumps saving mixing time
Berlon's Silage Cutter
(defacer) is designed for longetivity, production, and silage quality
LONGEVITY
• This silage defacer turns at only 50 to 70 RPM top speed.
With low RPM, it creates less heat and wear on bearings and hydraulics,
which will significantly prolong the life of your silage defacer.
• This silage cutter is built very heavy and sturdy. There
is a 2” diameter main shaft that drives the Silage Cutter,
and a 1/4” thick steel drum with 98 fully welded steel teeth.
All this weighs in at a hefty 1,168 Lbs giving this silage cutter
the strength and durability you need.
• Minimal maintenance is required. There are only a few things
that need to be maintained on a Berlon Silage Cutter. There are
two grease zerks, one on the left and one on the right bearing,
that need to be greased every 8 hours of operation. The drive chain
must be kept at the right tension. And in cold weather, the ends
of the silage cutter must be kept clean in order to prevent the
silage from freezing the drum tight. This is the only maintenance
required equaling minimal time and money spent to operate the Berlon
Silage Cutter. PRODUCTION • With the Berlon Silage Cutter’s
98 teeth welded on an 18” large steel drum, more teeth come
in contact with the bunk at one time, than do most other silage
cutters. This allows the Berlon Silage Cutter to turn slower, and
still keep its production level high. This slower turn speed combined
with the weight of this unit prevents it from bouncing around like
the lighter high speed units on the market. QUALITY • The teeth on a Berlon Silage Cutter are
designed to get you the most out of your silage. With the slow spinning
speed and shape of the teeth, the Berlon Silage Cutter pulls the
feed out without cutting it like a small drum silage cutter.
ADVANTAGES OF A BERLON • If your requirements change, Berlon offers
a left or right splitter option so you can reduce the amount of
the bunk that you are using at one time.
